An estimate of 10-15% of PS5 consoles sold in the US went to scalpers, with resellers having made millions in profit. Scalping has been a huge issue in gaming lately, thanks to the popularity of the new generation of consoles. It’s just a shame that several of them were used by scalpers to make a huge profit. The sleek, almost cyberpunk design is pretty unique, and so it’s understandable why it sold out so fast. It’s N95 respirator status means it protects from droplets and splashes, and so is an effective COVID mask.

The Zephyr itself was first shown off as a concept at CES 2021, and shortly after announced as an actual product. Zephyr Pro will cost $50 more, starting at $149.99 for the mask or $200 for the starter pack. The Razer Zephyr only went on sale on October 22, and so this scalper situation occurred almost immediately. Pricing for the Zephyr starts at $99 for the standalone mask or $149.99 for the starter pack that includes the filter set. Although both masks are essentially the same visually, the voice amplifier is the cause of the increased cost. Originally part of the Project Hazel concept, the voice amplifier will boost the wearer’s voice so that others can hear them more clearly. The difference between the two masks is the Zephyr Pro’s voice amplification. They will also share the same three-day N-95 filters and have optional starter packs with 33 sets of filters. That includes the three air chambers, two filtration fans, and Razer Chroma illumination inside and outside the mask through LEDs. Although each mask is similar in features, the Zephyr Pro has some additions worth the extra price.īoth the Zephyr and the Zephyr Pro share the same design aesthetics. Razer’s line of Zephyr facemasks has gained a new addition with the Razer Zephyr Pro.
